I heard I can’t shoot alone, is that true?

You can shoot alone. You can not rent alone, under any circumstances.  We require two people to rent.

Do I have to have experience to come down and shoot?

No, we pride ourselves on helping new shooters.  We have Range Safety Officers on staff at all times to help new shooters.  All you have to do is show up, we will take care of the rest.  At Shore Shot, We Aim to Please.

Do I have to be a member?

You do not have to be a member.  Although there are many benefits to being a member, it is not required to be one to use our range.

Can I get my concealed carry permit at Shore Shot?

We do the shooting portion and the Use of Force at Shore Shot.  This is the only thing that is required to obtain your permit.  If you pass the shooting portion, we will give you a form to submit with your application. All other forms are filled out online.

I have never shot before, is that a problem?

That is not a problem at all.  We pride ourselves on being the location that most people in the Central New Jersey area experience their first time shooting.  Our trained Range Safety Officers are here to guide you into having a safe and memorable experience. We Aim to Please!

How much does it cost?

Two people renting a firearm usually will cost around $100.00. It is difficult to give an exact amount without knowing what you will be purchasing.

Do you have lessons?

Yes, we offer basic safety courses and one on one lessons by appointment only.

Do you have discounts for LEO/MIL?

We offer discounts on membership for LEO/MIL.  We also have a First Responders Day every Thursday, it is half price to shoot and discounts on both rentals and ammo.

How old do you have to be to rent a gun?

You must be 21 years old to rent a Handgun and 18 years old to rent a Rifle or Shotgun at Shore Shot. People who are underage can still shoot provided someone of the appropriate age is responsible for each rental.

How old do you have to be to shoot?

It is more an issue of height and maturity than age.  We say 12 years old, but in certain circumstances we allow children younger.  It is best to call and speak with a staff member if you are planning on bringing a child under 12.

Can I rent a gun if I’m shooting alone?

No one can rent a firearm by themselves. You can shoot your own firearm alone but can not rent under any circumstances without at least 1 partner or guest.

Can I buy ammunition or do I need to bring some?

Shore Shot stocks all caliber of ammunition. All rentals must use ammo purchased at Shore Shot.  You may use your own ammo out of your own firearms.  If you are going to bring ammunition, we have a few requests. DO NOT bring, WOLF, CCI BLAZER (Aluminum Cased), STEEL JACKETED, TRACER or CORROSIVE PRIMED ammunition. We will not let you on to the range. We only allow ammunition that we know is safe and will not cause our equipment or guests harm.

Can I bring my own Ammo for Rentals?

No. All rentals need to use Ammo purchased at Shore Shot.

What guns do you Rent?

We offer for rent a large variety of handguns and rifles.  We are constantly adding the newest and hottest firearms to our rental wall.  The best way is to stop in but to give you an idea we have rentals by Glock, Sig Sauer, H&K, Smith & Wesson, Springfield Armory, Beretta and Ruger. We also rent NJ Legal AR rifles and Shotguns. If you are looking for a particular firearm, please call the shop as rental guns go in and out for service.

Are you busy on Weekends?

The weekends are our busiest time of the week. We do our best to keep the line moving and maximizing the space we have.  Even on our busiest days and times you should expect to wait more than a hour.

Do you take reservations?

We do not regularly take reservations.  We do take reservations for large groups.  If you are planning a party or event, please use the contact form on the right.

Do you sell guns?

 Yes. Shore Shot does sell a complete line of firearms and accessories. We have partnered with major manufacturers such as Sigarms, Glock, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Remington, etc to bring you the absolute lowest prices possible. We value our customers and try our best to be fair and competitive with everything we sell.  We are also located in the UEZ which allows us to have half on sales tax.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing something that is comfortable.  Women should refrain from wearing low cut shirts as hot brass can roll down into the shirt.  They should also wear flat shoes.

Marijuana is legal in NJ now, can I smoke before coming?

We are extremely strict about allowing shooters under the influence on our range.  If any member of your party seems to be under the influence, we reserve the right to deny your party.  Please refrain from entering the facility if you are under the influence, this includes smelling like Marijuana.  Marijuana is still prohibited federally and marijuana users are barred from possessing firearms by Federal law.

Can someone that is pregnant shoot?

If you are currently pregnant or believe you may be, you should not go on the firing line.  Lead is found on the range and this is detrimental to children’s growth and development.

Can anyone come to the range?

As long as you are not considered a prohibited person, you are able to come to the range.  A quick google search can tell you what would make you a prohibited person to own a firearm but they include:

  • Being convicted in any court of a felony or any other crime in which the judge could have imprisoned you for more than one year.
  • Are an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijiuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance.
  • Have been adjudicated as mentally defective or have been committed to a mental institution.
  • Have been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions.
  • Are subject to a court order restraining you from harassing, stalking, or threatening your child or an intimate partner or child of such partner.
  • Have been convicted in any court of a misdemeanor of domestic violence.
  • Have renounced your U.S. citizenship.
  • Are in the United States illegally.
